A Framework to Assess Decision Quality Using Information Quality Dimensions

The problem of insufficient information quality (IQ) is widespread and is often cited as one of the key factors for decision making. While numerous decisions are failed because of the low quality information, many organizations and individuals are still ignoring the importance and necessity of IQ in decision making. Over the last decade many researchers have focused on decision making models and IQ. However research analysing the impact of information quality on decision making is limited. In this paper, we propose a framework to measure the relationship between IQ and decision quality. In order to validate this conceptual framework, we propose an experiment and our preliminary results show the relationship between accuracy and decision quality. Finally, we conclude implications for assessing and improving decision quality with IQ principles and outline further research.
